Need to set up your TD Ameritrade account for Internet access? Here' s how:

• Near the upper right corner of the screen you will see blocks for account number and password. Enter your eight digit acct # - without hyphens, and the first 4 digits of your SS# (which is your temporary password).
• Choose a start page (e.g. Balance).
• At your first log in you will be shown an online account agreement - on which you must click the box at the bottom "I Agree".
• Now you will come to a "change password screen". Your old password is the first four digits of your SS#. Your new password must contain six characters.
• Next you will come to a Stock Exchange agreement page - which you must complete by clicking I agree multiple times.
• The next page is for choosing your confirmation and statement preferences - online vs. US mail. There is no charge for trade confirmations sent by regular mail for institutional clients - even though the retail site does not say this. Monthly statements are free whether you choose online or US Mail. (If you choose to "register later" it will bother you to complete the page at subsequent logons).

  You can now access your account. On subsequent logins, you will go directly to your chosen start page. When you are finished with online access, on all screens the logout "button" is in the upper left corner of the screen.
